Passion and imagination are the key components in both his own work and commissioned work.

Unlike God a man can not create out of nothing. However, the smallest spark can be enough to create an entire world. "When I look at a line or a stain I see the most fantastic creatures and worlds" That his greatest inspiration Johfra (Dutch Painter) needed stains to paint the bodies in the famous painting of the Witch-Sabbath is no surprised to him.

Even Leonardo da Vinci said: "Look at a wall full of damp locations, or stones that are irregular in colour. If you are looking for a background, you'll see this divine landscapes, dotted with mountains, ruins, rocks, woods, great plains , hills and valleys in great variety, sometimes you see battles and strange figures in violent action, facial expressions and clothes and an infinity of things in which you will recognise it’s complete and own shape. It’s the same for church bels: in their ringing can you hear every possible word. "

The passion of the customer often provides the subject of the artwork here is fantasy mixed with the passion as the spark and the create world breathes the passion of the customer.

Through his commissioned work which includes portraits and frescoes he started to show his own vision.

In the autonomous work of the self-taught artist is the "spark" often an experiment with a new material. Or a stain or line that he unconsciously made on the blank canvas. Then it is a concatenation of the line / stain object system.

The technical background and his logical thinking  complement what he has learned trough the years.  There is always a linger to fantasy and dynamic waves. "The painting should encourage you to dream away and still keep discovering new things."

About me.

Demons and Jelly Beans

The use of black and white with the rough and the soft shapes as well as the structure versus the smoothness symbolises daily life in which not everything is black and white (although sometimes we experience it as such) but there are many gradations. We must in spite of  all the "demons" keep looking for the "Jelly beans". And enjoy the small but beautiful things and moments in our lives.

Demons and Cherries

Here Rob is working on his second painting in a series of seven paintings.  All the paintings are about life.

Demons and Cherries  tells us to cherish the people that we love and whom love us. In this painting he will be using the colour red. And in the next painting probably adding another colour.
